Rules

Rules

  1. Respect each other. Respect each other. Respect each other. Respect that someone could be having an off day for various reasons. Respect that someone might have less time than you or more time than you. Respect that people have different play styles. Respect that most people are on here to have fun and actually do research for their characters. Respect that people have their own endgoals. Respect boundaries and triggers but also respect the joy of pursuing a dramatic story in an artificial setting. Empathy is a valuable human inclination, please use it.

  2. AC will be ten comments separated between two threads. The reason there is an AC is that this game will only last for one year, so some sort of CR building is necessary to make endgame work. It won't do anyone any favors to be entirely inactive until the last couple of months. The AC is minimal, though, and hiatuses do apply.

  3. Remember IC Consequences. While there's definitely a lot of leniency to what your characters do, remember that this is a real-world setting with a military and law enforcement and NPC reactions. If your character publicly commits a lot of destruction, it's very likely the national guard would be called on them, or even a capable PC would interfere. If your character gets away with something, they need logical reasons, preparation, and follow-up activities that would make this absolutely plausible. Doing otherwise can make other players feel impotent and unable to act.

  4. Let other people have their fun. I know this falls back on the respect rule as well, but if your character is capable of stopping something, and another character really wants to go through with it, see if you can plan obstacles that would prevent your character's interference. This game should give characters with more nefarious inclinations chances to do a few ill deeds. Similarly, it should be a chance for a few heroics.

  5. If someone is behaving badly, they'll be given a warning, and then they'll be asked to leave. This game is meant to be run on minimum maintenance (mod work is thankless, unpaid, and worth it only when a game is fun) and on the mentality that if someone wants to RP they'll find a place/way to do it, even if it's not here. We want to keep this simple enough.
